Apparatus maintenance for the Central Yavapai Fire District fleet is performed by four full time mechanics and one radio technician. Work may be performed at the maintenance facility or in the field as needed. Additionally, when new apparatus are needed, much of the specialized work needed to turn a standard vehicle into a usable piece of fire equipment is done in house. This includes fire pump installation, electrical work, and fabrication of parts used for equipment storage. |
 |
Every aspect of the apparatus is handled by the Maintenance Section; beginning with R&D, writing the specifications, bidding, manufacturer inspections, final acceptance testing to outfitting the apparatus and placing it in service. |
| The maintenance section contracts with the Chino Valley, Groom Creek, Mayer, Williamson Valley, Camp Verde, and Cherry Volunteer Fire Districts, and the United States Forest Service for fleet maintenance. They also do warranty work for several leading fire apparatus manufacturers. |
