Operations

The Operations Division is responsible for fire suppression, emergency medical services, mitigation of disasters and rescue activities. Specialized units within the Operations Division include the HazMat Team and the Technical Rescue Team. The Operations Division also oversees the Fleet Maintenance and Training Sections. The Fleet Maintenance Section provides fleet service to all CYFD vehicles and apparatus. In addition, the Fleet Maintenance Section provides contract services to other fire districts and the US Forest Service for vehicle design, preventive maintenance and/or repair. The Training Section is responsible for the professional development of our members and provides technical, supervisory and managerial training for all personnel.

The Operations Division consists of one Division Chief, three on shift Battalion Chiefs and one 40-hour Training Chief, 19 Captains, 18 Engineers, and 31 Firefighters. Three different platoons ie, A-shift, B-shift, and C-shift, are each supervised by a Battalion Chief who is responsible for emergency and administrative activities of all members assigned to that battalion. The firefighters work an alternating schedule of 24-hour shifts. The District has 6 fulltime fire stations, two reserve fire stations, a Fleet Maintenance Facility and the Central Yavapai Regional Training Academy.
